We moved in on September 20th...here's Chris turning the key!!!
First, we have the ground floor - as they call it..
We used the little nook on the right to store our golf clubs
1st reception (we are using it as a dining room)
The ladies who lived here before us were barristers (lawyers) - there are bookshelves EVERYwhere in the house - we have nothing to fill them! One of the neatest architectural designs of the house, IMHO, are the shutters. The fold into the wall when opened. So, cool!
Next, is the landing area of the stairs - more shelves!
Then, we have the utility room - we are fortunate to have an American size fridge/freezer! We also have a wine fridge! Another luxury is a dryer! Although it's a condensing dryer, at least we have one!
BTW, yes, those plugs running across the top like that drive me crazy! How hard would it have been to drill a hole in the counter top?!
Another luxury is the LARGE kitchen!
I'm struggling with the gas cooker - it's totally different from cooking in gas in the US! Plus the conversion issues - grams, celsius, etc. As my friend Tracy says - every time I cook it's a major math lesson! But, I have a oven thermometer and kitchen scale now, so it's gotta get better, right?!
Now, we'll head to the first floor...
On the landing is the pic that Alex painted of our US home!
2nd Reception - we are using it as a living room - where we spend the majority of our time!
I've also had to make it a sudo crafting space - notice all my bins on the right shelves! I've also crammed a table behind the couch that houses my silhouette machine, etc.
1st Floor Toilet - it feels so British!
1st Floor Guest Room
Let's head to the second floor....
The toilet...they just had this refitted before we moved in - it's very nice!
We used one of the bedrooms as a dressing room since it was the only room with a closet. For whatever reason, they don't "do" closets over here. Everyone buys wardrobes. It's crazy!
2nd floor guest bedroom...
And finally, the master bedroom and MORE shelves!
So, what are you waiting on? Come visit us!
