Real Bar-B-Q In Bedford

A new place in Bedford opened called "BBQ Bob's"!

Chris was the first American to eat there. He went in on Monday after their Grand Opening weekend. There was a man leaning up against the wall as he entered - Chris looked at him and said , "Well, smells right!" Turned out it was the owner. He was a great guy. Bought Chris a beer and talked American Barbeque for an hour!

Chris ordered ribs, bar-b-que beans, cole slaw and sweet potato fries. It was all pretty good - cole slaw was heavy on the mayonnaise - Chris explained the merits of apple cider vinegar and sugar...

When he inquired if they had a "two meat platter" the owner pondered for awhile and said, well, I guess we could do a chicken & pork or something and Chris said..."No, back home you offer a two meat plate and the customer picks the two meats. If they want ribs it's an upcharge!" This was sheer brilliance!

The chef came out and wanted to meet THE AMERICAN and get his opinion of the cooking! Wanted to know if he'd be back, etc. Chris explained that we'd be moving there soon and would definitely bring his wife for a meal! So, one of our first items on the agenda this trip is to visit BBQ Bob's!
